Mark & Kathy Edwards - Pastors

Mark & Kathy started New Life NoMa in September 2017. Their passion is teaching and demonstrating God's kingdom. Mark and Kathy practically communicate how to love God and others, how to wholeheartedly follow Jesus, and how to teach others to follow Him. They also share their business skills and ideas so that God's people can prosper and experience life to the full.

They proclaim the good news of the Kingdom with love and simplicity. Their heart is to serve and to teach so that local church leaders are encouraged and strengthened and God's people equipped to walk in their God-given destinies.

Mark received his theological training at Dallas Theological Seminary and graduated with a Master of Theology degree with high honors (missions and church planting emphasis). He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business (Marketing) from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and for years successfully owned and operated a real estate development company. Kathy earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Virginia Tech and completed graduate biblical studies from Dallas Seminary with a view of serving on the mission field.

While developing English-speaking schools in Hong Kong in 1994, Mark had an amazing experience with the Holy Spirit that changed their lives forever. The Edwards' ministries bring a balance of sound theology based on the Word of God and the reality of the Holy Spirit's work in everyday life.

Mark and Kathy have planted and pastored churches in South Bend, Indiana; Wake Forest, the inner city Raleigh, midtown Raleigh, and Youngsville, North Carolina, U.S.A.; and Llandudno, Wales, U.K. They provide oversight to the most recent church plants in Raleigh and Llandudno. They have ministered overseas in San Jose, Costa Rica; Tokyo, Japan; Hong Kong; Cebu City and Laoag City, Philippines; Rwanda; Kenya; England; North Wales and throughout India.

They are credentialed through the Association of Evangelical Ministers.
